Prayer Requests

People always say bad luck comes in "threes," and unfortunately that seems to be true. I have a couple of family prayer requests this week. First of all, my teenage cousin's boyfriend killed himself Saturday night. My cousin is obviously devastated and feels like she could have done something to prevent it. My family is really concerned about my cousin's emotional well-being in dealing with something like this and our heart goes out to the boy's family. I pray for everyone involved and hope the Lord will comfort those who are grieving his loss. Secondly, my mom's sister is at UMC after having some rectal bleeding. She had a scan yesterday that showed a mass. They believe that she has colon cancer, but are doing another scan today to confirm or deny the diagnosis. We all know that preliminary tests can be wrong, so we are praying for good results. And finally (and honestly this is no big deal compared to the other things going on), Addison has been sick for several days and went to the doctor today. She has a kind of pink eye, a cold that has turned into a sinus infection, and also a contact rash all over her back, stomach and neck. The doctor sent her home with three different kinds of meds, so hopefully she'll be on the mend soon. At least we have been able to avoid the flu thus far. The bad thing about one-year-old preschool is that all the kids put everything in their mouth and love swapping germs. Aside from putting her in a bubble, there's not much we can do until she builds some immunity. I bought her some gummy vitamins with extra vitamin C this past weekend and I am hoping they will help! If not, I am going to try to her daddy's theory and let her eat more dirt. He swears that he ate so much dirt as a child that he's immune to everything!
